2015, Japan announced that it will run for the United Nations non-permanent members

According to Kyodo News, Japanese Foreign Minister Maehara local time Jan. 11 at a press conference announced that Japan will be the fall 2015 election campaign the United Nations Security Council non-permanent members (term of 2016 ~ 2017).

Reported that the Japanese government had planned to campaign this autumn term of 2012 to 2013 non-permanent members, but ultimately concluded that the application for more time to prepare to ensure a smooth election.

Japan in 2009 to 2010 served as a United Nations non-permanent member.

Reported that Maehara reiterated that with Germany, Brazil and India for a permanent Security Council members together. He said prior to the completion of United Nations reform, Japan will play a role as a non-permanent members.
